Zach,
age 9, from Irwin, was born with spina bifida, a
neurotube defect that left him paralyzed from the
waist down. He is able to walk with the aid of braces
and crutches, but now he is able to wheel around
too in his flashy, bright orange, specially-adapted
handcycle provided by Variety the Children's Charity.
By participating in the Wheelchair Grand Prix event,
you can help more kids like Zach - kids with cerebral
palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, and mental retardation
- to get the mobility equipment they need. Go the
distance for Zach and other very special kids so
they can lead fuller and more productive lives.
Meet
other kids like Zach here.
